Disover this most beautiful part of England from one of our holiday cottages located in the Cotswolds and Bath.

Self Catering in Cotswolds & BathSome of the Cotswolds villages to visit could include:

  • Bourton-on-the Water which is a very picturesque Cotswolds village with several attractive old stone bridges crossing over the River Windrush.
  • Burford which is another pretty little village on the River Windrush. Its wide High Street leads down to a narrow bridge over the river.
  • Chipping Campden is another of these pretty towns. Its wealth came from the wool trade and its streets have changed very little in the last two hundred years. For walking enthusiasts, the Costswold Way runs for 100 miles from Chipping Campden all the way to Bath.

The list of incredibly pretty villages could continue unabated. Don’t miss Lower and Upper Slaughter which are actually two extremely pretty villages rather than abattoirs! Great Tew and Little Tew are two more Cotswold villages that you have to see to believe that they are real.

Self Catering in Cotswolds & BathIn the beautiful city of Bath you can enjoy the Roman Baths which are a world heritage site. Located at the site of Britain’s only hot spring, the Romans built a magnificent temple and bathing complex that still flows with natural hot water. Today, Roman clad characters tell stories of those who lived and bathed here 2,000 years ago. Visit the Pump Room where the hot spa water is drawn for drinking.

The elegance of The Royal Crescent cannot be overstated. Built between 1767 and 1775, it comprises 30 grade 1 listed houses built in a crescent shape around a great lawn.  The Crescent is one of the world’s best known places of residence.

The Pulteney Bridge in central Bath is one of the most beautiful bridges in the world and is one of only a handful of bridges which have shops built into it. Also in central Bath is the glorious Guildhall which is a beautiful Georgian building.

If you have a sweet tooth, then a visit to Sally Lunn’s Refreshment House & Museum is a must. The Sally Lunn Bun is a lovely light semi-sweet bread and the Refreshment House now houses a living museum.
