This self catering holiday cottage in Ballyconneely stands in its own grounds with views of the Atlantic Ocean, just minutes from a beautiful Blue Flag Beach and excellent Ballyconneely Golf Club.It is mid way between Clifden and Roundstone and 1 hour 20 minutes from Galway City.
Ballyconneely has a wide variety of water sports on offer including sailing, deep sea fishing and various boat trips long the coast. The nearby Aran Islands are easily accessible by boat from Rossaveel (approx. 1 ½ hrs from Ballyconneely) or by plane from Connemara Regional Airport. Other outdoor activities include horse riding at local riding school at Errislannan Manor, walking and cycling with bicycle hire available locally.
The attractive, seaside town of Clifden is less than 15 minutes drive away and has a good choice of restaurants and pubs serving locally caught fresh fish, craft shops, a theatre and night club. In August the town hosts the Connemara Pony Show which has become a mix of traditional horse show and town fair with stalls and bands in the town’s main square. There is also a Country Blues Festival and Arts Week in September.
20 minutes in the opposite direction is the quaint village of Roundstone at the foot of Errisbeg Mountain. The village hosts a number of festivals throughout the year including the Roundstone Arts Week in July, Roundstone Pony Show and Roundstone Regatta.
This holiday cottage in Ballyconneely is the ideal base from which to tour this beautiful region of Ireland with its crystal clear water, white sandy beaches and craggy headlands, the scenery really is stunning along this part of Galway’s coast.
