These attractive self catering holiday homes in Bettystown are in a lovely courtyard setting 5 minutes from the local shops and just 1.4Km from the local sandy beach which stretches from nearby Laytown all the way to the mouth of the Boyne River at Mornington.

A long established seaside resort, Bettystown is a fantastic destination for a family holiday. In addition to the beach on your doorstep, the local theme park Funtasia will provide children of all ages with hours of entertainment being Ireland’s largest permanent amusement park. There is  the Aura Leisure Link - an indoor water park 35 minutes away in Navan and karting at the Puddenhill Activity Centre, 35 minutes away in Garristown and also the Fantastic Tayto Park in Ashbourne!

There is a good choice of golf available locally with  Laytown & Bettystown Golf Club, Julianstown Golf Club and Bellewstown Golf Club all less than 20 minutes away. Other outdoor activities on offer in the area include angling in at the nearby Boyne Valley Fishery, horse riding at Castle Hill Equestrian Centre, Julianstown or Bellewstown Stables, Duleek, wakeboarding at the Irish Aquatic Sports Centre, Summerhill and plenty of interesting marked walking trails such as the Duleek Heritage Trail and the Boyne Ramparts Trail.

There is a strong equine tradition in this part of Ireland and Meath is famous for the wonderful horses it has produced. Enthusiasts can enjoy racing at the famous Fairyhouse Racecourse, at Navan Racecourse or Bellewstown Raceourse the quite unique annual races on Laytown Strand where the beach is cordoned off as the tide goes out with the grandstand formed by steps cut into the sand dunes. Regular Show Jumping Grand Prix are regularly held at Broadmeadows Equestrian Centre, just 30 minutes from Bettystown in Ashbourne.

No visit to Co. Meath is complete without a trip to Newgrange, a Neolithic passage tomb constructed over 5000 years ago, making it older than Stonehenge! This together with Knowth and Dowth – two nearby smaller sites, has been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

While staying at our self catering accommodation in Bettystown, you are ideally situated to explore the surrounding county of Meath and its neighbours Dublin, West Meath and Louth. Should you want to visit Dublin but avoid the inconvenience having the car in town, there are regular trains from Drogheda (15 minutes from Bettystown) and a bus from the gate which takes you into the heart of Dublin city.
