The seaside market town of Dungarvan dates back to the Anglo Normans and is the administrative capital of Co. Waterford. The town is centred around its harbour where the River Colligan enters the sea. There are numerous sandy beaches nearby the largest of which is Clonea Beach which is less than km from the town centre which is ideal for swimming. Dungarvan town has a fantastic choice of seafood restaurants, pubs, craft shops and galleries including the Old Market House Arts Centre.

There are a large variety of outdoor activities on offer in Dungarvan, deep sea angling boats are available for charter from the harbour and course fishing is available locally. There are three 18 hole golf courses in the area (including the Dungarvan Gold Coast and West Waterford Golf Clubs). For the family, pitch & putt is available in the town.


The nearby Knockmealdown Mountains, stunning coastline and local rivers, provide a stunning backdrop to many scenic drives and hikes.
