Glandore is an extremely picturesque little village situated on an inlet of the West Cork coastline 7Km from Rosscarberry and 3Km from the quaint fishing village of Union Hall which has a convenience store and post office.
Glandore Yacht Club operates from Glandore Harbour running a variety of courses and races throughout the year in addition to The Glandore Classic Regatta. Angling and deep sea fishing are extremely popular here, boat hire and organised trips to some of the local islands are available during the summer months from Union Hall.
This part of the West Cork coastline is an excellent spot for whale, dolphin and seal watching. Boat trips leave from nearby Union Hall and Castlehaven. The waters of this part of Ireland's southern coastline were declared a whale & dolphin sanctuary in the 1990’s making whale watching a huge tourist draw all along the coast. Dolphins and seals are frequently seen in Glandore Harbour while whales and sharks are regularly sighted further out to sea, beyond Adam & Eve Island. Species to look out for include;

It is also a wonderful base from which to tour West Cork with the vibrant towns of Skibbereen and Clonakilty less than 15 minutes drive away. Both Cork City and Kinsale are just over an hour away.
