The market town Killorglin has a wide choice of excellent restaurants, friendly pubs and wine bars. The town is home to one of Ireland’s most unusual street fairs – The Puck Fair. This is held annually every August for 3 days and has developed into an impressive festival with street theatre, fireworks, a horse fair, face painting and live music from a wide variety of Irish musicians.

There are a number of outdoor activities on offer in the area such as kayaking with Outdoors Ireland, canoeing, orienteering, sailing, windsurfing, hill walking and rock climbing with Cappanalea Outdoor Education Centre and pony trekking at a number of local equestrian centers. Killorglin Golf Club has an 18 hole course designed by Eddie Hackett which has panoramic views of Dingle Bay, the MacGillycuddy Reeks and Slieve Mish Mountain Range.


Killorglin is only a 10 minute drive from the Blue Flag Beach at Rossbeigh. The beach is also the venue for the annual Glenbeigh Races held in August. In addition to the horse racing, there is live music, face painting, go karting and a best dressed award.



Killorglin is situated at the gateway of the beautiful Iveragh Peninsula and surrounded by the dramatic MacGillycuddy Reeks. These provide excellent opportunities for walkers, hikers and cyclists not to mention there being some really stunning scenic drives. Bicycle hire is available in the town.

The area around Killorglin is very popular with fishermen with guests of our holiday homes having private fishing access to the stretch of the River Laune on which the properties are situated. The river is one of the best stocked rivers in Ireland with salmon, white trout and brown trout. The near by River Caragh offers good spring salmon and grilse fishing and also has a sea trout fishery. Kerry Sea Fishing offer sea angling trips in Dingle Bay leaving from Castlemaine Harbour.
