Oranmore is situated on the shores of Renville Bay just 10km from Galway City. Renville Park is an extensive area of woodland and open grassland on the shores of Galway Bay, surrounding the ruins of the ancient Oranmore castle dating from the 16th century. Renville Point and Saleen Point, offer lovely views of Renville Bay, Galway Bay, Galway City, the Aran Islands and the Burren in Co. Clare across the bay. The park is home to a wide variety of wildlife and visitors can frequently see raven, grey heron and otters. The Park’s large picnic areas and children's playground make it a firm favourite with families all year round.
