    Local Area – Letterfrack Village

    Letterfrack Village is a vibrant village lying at the head of Ballynakill Bay, it is overlooked by the majestic Diamond Mountain and by the incredible Connemara National Park.

    Letterfrack is known for its live traditional Irish music. Every Sunday throughout the year in the local pub “The Bards Den” you can be treated to a variety of Irish music. There is also a variety of places to eat and drink locally.

    The main entrance to the Connemara National Park is located in the village, and it is the starting point for an array of stunning scenic walks. One of the most popular of these walks is the extraordinary raised pathway which leads all the way to the top of the Diamond Mountain. There is plenty to do from Letterfrack including sea or pier fishing, dolphin watching and boat trips.
    From Letterfrack village you and your guests are just a short drive to the beautiful white sandy beaches of the Renvyle Peninsula. You will be spoilt for choice with the array of beaches that the Wild Atlantic Way has to offer.

    Things to See and Do in Galway

    Clifden is the largest town in Connemara in Co. Galway and is located just a 14.2km drive away from Letterfrack Village. It is set between the spectacular Atlantic Ocean, Twelve Ben Mountains and preserved bog lands. This vibrant seaside town is packed with good restaurants, cosy cafes, lively trad bars and craft shops. There are numerous festivals throughout the year in Clifden, including the famous Connemara Pony Festival and the Arts Festival in September.

    The bustling city of Galway is just a 60-minute drive away from Letterfrack Apartments making it a must see during your stay. Galway is full of traditional pubs that often offer live Irish folk music. There is an abundance of cafes, boutiques and art galleries which line the winding lanes of the Latin Quarter, which retains portions of the medieval city walls. The city is full of attractions and history making it a must see on your visit in Connemara.

    Galway is a top holiday destination and an ideal base at any time of the year. Letterfrack is a perfect base for a family holiday, romantic break or group getaway with a gathering of friends looking to explore the wilds of Connemara National Park.
