There are also traditional pubs, a children’s playground, sandy coves and boat hire all in the beautiful fishing village of Kilmore Quay.

Things to See & Do in Wexford

Take a trip to the Saltee Islands which are situated 5km off the coast of Kilmore Quay in County Wexford. The larger of the islands The Great Saltee is famous with birdwatchers as the island is a sanctuary for so many different species such as the beautiful and very cute Puffin.

Walking the Ballyteige Burrow trail, one of the finest sand dune systems in the South East of Ireland. There are three trail options to choose from, along the beach, through the dunes or on the path by the fence that separates the dunes from the adjoining farmland. You will find an abundance of seabirds and wildlife around this nature reserve.

A little further afield is the bustling town of Wexford with many shops, restaurants, stunning blue flag beaches and a wide range of activities. Located 5 miles north of Wexford town is Curracloe beach, one of the most popular beaches in Ireland. This fabulous beach stretches for over 7 miles with its soft fine sand it is the ideal location for sunbathers and swimmers. There are also a number of outdoor activities, such as surfing or beach horse riding. Kids will love the annual surfing camps run throughout the holiday periods.

A trip to the Irish National Heritage Park is a must on your visit to Wexford with over 9,000 years of Irish History waiting to be explored. The kids will love the two adventure playgrounds there and the many characters on display in period costumes. A fun filled day out on your next self-catering holiday in County Wexford.

Hook Holiday Cottage - Pet Friendly Holiday Home

This unique holiday cottage in Wexford will accept a maximum of 1 pet per booking. Charges are payable on site to the On-site Manager @ €30 per stay. Please note that the garden is not enclosed. Please mention your pet at the time of booking via our call centre, as your pet will not be accepted without prior confirmation.

IMPORTANT NOTES

1. Heating and Electricity:
This is an extra charge which is mostly payable to the Property Manager/Owner. In some cases, energy is charged at a fixed daily rate or a rate per unit on the units consumed or you are required to top up a Pre-Paid Meter while in others, energy charges are included in the rate you have paid. We advise you to check with the local Owner/ Property Manager prior to arrival how this is calculated or prior to making the booking.

2. Security Deposit:
A minimum refundable security deposit of €200 (per property) must be paid prior to check-in to your holiday home to the local Property Manager/ Owner. This is either taken over the phone by pre-authorising your credit card when you call the Property Manager to arrange your arrival time 48 hours in advance of arrival or at others it is taken on arrival. In some locations and at certain times of year this can increase to €500 per property.
