    Located down a quiet country land Knocknalosset House is an attractive two-storey farmhouse. This self-catering farmhouse in roughcast with a hipped roof is set in a narrow yard overlooking an enclosed cottage garden and long-lofted barn. The detail is simple but beautiful, with bay windows and a small gabled porch, a perfect destination for a relaxing, laidback holiday in the country.

    This unique self catering holiday home in Cavan comfortably sleeps 4 and is located in the heart of the lake lands of County Cavan, about 15 mins drive from Bailieborough.

    On the ground floor the homely country kitchen/dining room is well supplied with cooking utensils and equipment plus there is a small utility space for extra storage. There is a wood burning stove in kitchen plus oil fired central heating is available throughout the house. You will also find a beautiful sitting room/reading room with woodburning stove located on the ground floor plus a bathroom with bathtub and an additional dining room for evening dining.

    The three bedrooms are located on the first floor, each providing their own character and style. There is 1 double bedroom and 2 twin bedrooms, two rooms have cast-iron beds and the second single bed is styled with an attractive solid wood bed plus an ensuite shower room.

    Enjoy alfresco dining or sit back and listen to the silence in the enclosed front cottage garden or in the cobblestone courtyard at the rear of the property.

    There is a selection of golf clubs in the area, County Cavan Golf Club one of the oldest and most mature parkland courses in Ireland, or Clones Golf Club a unique 20-hole all-weather open parkland course with many water features.

    Redhills Equestrian is a family run centre specialising in children’s holidays and progressive teaching, a 20-minute drive from Cootehill or Beechlane Equestrian Centre and Little Fellows Pet Farm have an indoor pet farm, sand play area, pony rides and café, a 15-minute drive from Cootehill.

    Cootehill Historic Town Trail and Dartrey Forest Park are great options for country trail walks nearby.
    Cootehill is situated between the Dromore and Annalee rivers both tributaries of the vast Lough Erne system. There are 26 lakes within a 10-mile radius containing a huge variety of species and size of fish therefore Knocknalosset House is an ideal base for a fishing holiday in Ireland.

    Property History
    The authentic limewashed interior is a very rare survivor, with low-ceiling rooms and 19th century panelled doors and shutters. The floor plan is interesting, with five rooms on the ground floor around a long hall with narrow stairs placed across the kitchen at the centre. Georgian maps show the existence of a house here before 1775, when the lands formed part of the Greville Estate.
