This self catering coastal cottage sleeps 8 and has a total of 4 large double bedrooms. This beautiful stone-cut holiday home in Kerry has an inviting porch and entrance hall. The modern and large fully equipped kitchen with aga has everything you need for a comfortable self-catering holiday in Ireland. The sea views from the dining room table are breath-taking, yet another reason to love this holiday cottage. There is a large utility room with wine cooler and several cupboards ideal for extra storage.
The attractive living room has a cosy open fire and a bay window with views over the countryside and Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way.
Two of the four bedrooms are located on the ground floor, 1 double bedroom and 1 double en-suite bedroom. Plus, there is a ground floor bathroom with shower over bath. On the first floor there are 2 additional large double en-suite bedrooms.
From the large well-maintained garden you and your guests can relax and soak up the amazing views of the surrounding countryside and Atlantic Ocean. The garden is perfect for outside dining and children will love the freedom and extra space to explore.
The holiday cottage has ample off street car parking and Wi-Fi is included. Strictly no pets are allowed.
The closest village is Castlecove which is 0.8km from this holiday cottage. Castlecove is located on the Iveragh Peninsula on the N70, a traditional rural village full of activities and holds the St. Cohan’s Festival each July. In Castlecove you will find a pub called The Black Shop Bar, O’Leary’s Petrol Station which has a grocery shop and newsagents. Plus, there is a roman catholic church and a seasonal bus stop.
Castlecove has fine sandy beaches, the nearest being White Strand which is 100 meters from this holiday cottage. The coastline has created natural rock pools with sandy coves dotted underneath the cliffs. Its pristine ecological harmony won Castlecove an award at the World Environmental Oscars.
The imposing ruins of Staigue Fort are close by and are the finest example of a stone fort in Ireland. It’s about 2,500 years old. The defensive fort, six metres high and four metres thick, was home of the chieftain's family and entourage.
Westcove pier is a beautiful inlet from where you can moor your boat and catch up on a spot of fishing for the dinner.
The closest towns are the beautiful seaside towns of Sneem and Waterville which are both 15km away.
The well-known beach of Derrynane is 6km from this holiday cottage just off the famous Ring of Kerry. Derrynane Blue Flag beach is located in a proposed Natural Heritage Area site, rich in biodiversity and of significant national importance.
