Ballinspittle village is 3.1km away from Garrettstown Holiday Home where you will find a selection of shops and restaurants. Ballinspittle was made famous in the mid-1980s by the Moving Statue when some locals claimed to have witnessed the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary moving spontaneously at the Ballinspittle Grotto. As news of the phenomenon spread, thousands of pilgrims and spectators flocked to the site of the statue.
A little further away is the colourful town of Kinsale which is 12km from Garrettstown. This picturesque town has an array of cafes, pubs and restaurants to suit every taste and budget.
There is a wide variety of day trips to experience in Kinsale, go sea angling or deep-sea fishing, sailing, cruising, water-skiing, jet skiing, scuba diving, canoeing, snorkelling, bodyboarding and many more water-based activities are available in Kinsale and the surrounding area.

We had a great week in garrettstown holiday home, a beautiful house, really spacious with everything we needed, it was very clean, and only just 1 minute walk to the beach, it was 5 minutes drive to the village of ballinspittle, where there was a nicsee more
We had a great week in garrettstown holiday home, a beautiful house, really spacious with everything we needed, it was very clean, and only just 1 minute walk to the beach, it was 5 minutes drive to the village of ballinspittle, where there was a nice pub in the village called hurleys, lovely food, or if you go the other way along the beach 5 minutes drive there is another pub called the speckled hen, lovely beer garden with fab views and lovely food. Kinsale is just 15 minutes drive, fabulous place, we also visited clonakilty about 35 minutes drive away, where you can visit Michael collins house, and also the ambush site béal na bláth, beautiful views on the drive, we enjoyed everything about our holiday, the people were extremely friendly everywhere we went, we also had a fantastic week weather-wise the sun was beaming.
