This large holiday cottage sleeping 10 is located in a peaceful countryside setting near the pretty village of Oughterard and only a short 30-minute drive from Galway City. Oughterard Self Catering Holiday Cottage is 2.3 km from the vibrant village of Oughterard. This popular village in County Galway is situated on the shores of Lough Corrib, at the edge of the wild and rugged Connemara Region.
Oughterard Holiday Cottage is a large holiday cottage in pristine condition and is finished to a very high standard. The unique holiday cottage in Galway is one of a few of the original 18 railway gatekeeper cottages which were built along the Galway to Clifden railway which operated between 1895-1935.
The open plan and modern kitchen is well equipped and has everything you need for a comfortable self-catering holiday in Connemara. There is a utility room just off the kitchen with a washing machine and dryer, perfect for extra storage on your next self-catering holiday. There is also an extra living area with Sky TV and comfortable furnishings located in the open plan kitchen and dining room area. The main sitting room has a wood burning stove and large flatscreen TV. The family bathroom includes shower, WC and hand basin.

The average population of pochard on Lough Corrib is 8,600 and the whooper swan, hen harrier and kingfisher have also been recently recorded at close to Lough Corrib, all of which are listed on the EU Birds Directive.
Local activities in Oughterard include a boat trip on Lough Corrib. Go on a cruise to Inchagoill Island and Cong from Oughterard. The Corrib Queen departs from Oughterard pier daily except Tuesdays at 12:00pm, and sails onto Inchagoill Island. Enjoy views of the Connemara mountains, Lough Corrib's 365 islands and Inisheanbo, one of the most beautiful islands on the lake.
Located just 2 miles outside Oughterard is Aughnanure Castle. At the top of the castle you can take in the fabulous views of the surrounding area. A small bit further approximately 7 miles outside of Oughterard is Curraghduff Farm. On the farm there are a lot of different wildlife which makes this farm unique. Children will love the Alpaca’s which you can bring for a walk around the farm, a perfect family day out in Connemara.

This house is absolutely beautiful. The place is spotless. The sleeping accommodation is really comfortable. There is everything you need in the house. TV with all channels great for the children. The location is brilliant for touring connemara and tsee more
