Description
Lizzies Holiday Cottage is set in an idyllic location just a 3.9km drive from Carrick village in County Donegal. This recently refurbished holiday cottage is set in a peaceful location, a wonderful base for a coastal holiday in Donegal.
Tí Linn is ideally 700 metres away from this holiday cottage, a unique café serving artisan food well-known for its home baking and coffee by Illy. Visit the craft shop which sells a collection of local crafts, knitwear and gifts.
Next door to Tí Linn is Sliabh Liag Cliff Experience & Visitor Centre, a must on your Wild Atlantic Way adventure. Experience the local culture, heritage and people of Donegal against the backdrop of our spectacular and rugged coastline.
Visit Slieve League, also known as Slieve Liag, a mountain on the Atlantic coast which is located just 1km from Lizzies Holiday Cottage. Hike to the summit of Sliabh Liag to see some of Europe's highest marine cliffs. On your trip to the summit, you'll pass by a number of lakes, and at the bottom lies a beach of perfect white sand that can only be reached by boat.
This coastal holiday cottage has 3 bedrooms and sleeps 6 guests comfortably:

The family bathroom is located on the ground floor with a separate shower, hand basin and toilet.
A spacious garden with a courtyard area and lawn furniture is available outside Lizzies Holiday Cottage. In the summer months, it's ideal for relaxing and dining alfresco.
The Rusty Mackerel (1.2km) is a popular traditional Irish bar and restaurant famed for its traditional music and friendly atmosphere. Sitting at the foot of Sliabh Liag, visit The Rusty Mackerel for an evening of craic agus ceol.
From Carrick, you'll be surrounded by some of Western Europe's most beautiful countryside. Drive down Donegal's Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland's longest coastline at 772 miles, and take in the breath-taking scenery.
Visit Sliabh Liag Distillery (4.4km) a local family-owned craft distillery and the first in Donegal for over 175 years, book a tour is complete with tasting.
For a unique experience take a trip to Glencolumbkille Folk Village (13km), a cluster of small cottages, called a ‘clachan’ perched on a hillside overlooking the Glen Bay Beach in the Gaeltacht. The folk village is one of Ireland's best living history museums, having been designed by locals.
Donegal's stunning Secret Waterfall, newly found and regarded as an archaeological treasure with ancient fossils and a cave, is another local attraction well worth a visit.
Teelin Pier (2.8km) offers fantastic sightseeing tours, sea cliffs which soar 600 meters above the water, may be seen from the boat. Dolphins, whales, seals, and basking sharks frequently accompany visitors, making for a memorable experience on your next self-catering trip in Donegal.

This is an extra charge which is mostly payable to the Property Manager/Owner. In some cases, energy is charged at a fixed daily rate or a rate per unit on the units consumed or you are required to top up a Pre-Paid Meter while in others, energy charges are included in the rate you have paid. We advise you to check with the local Owner/ Property Manager prior to arrival how this is calculated or prior to making the booking.
2. Security Deposit:
A minimum refundable security deposit of €200 (per property) must be paid prior to check-in to your holiday home to the local Property Manager/ Owner. This is either taken over the phone by pre-authorising your credit card when you call the Property Manager to arrange your arrival time 48 hours in advance of arrival or at others it is taken on arrival. In some locations and at certain times of year this can increase to €500 per property.

Carrick (3.9km) is a small village in County Donegal, located in the parish of Glencolmcille. cliffs this newly built house impresses the minute one enters. Excellent faculties for cooking, clothes washing and drying. A user friendly wood chip boiler keeps one snug. The beds, pillows and duvet are most comfortablsee more
