Castlecove is a village in County Kerry, Ireland, located on the Iveragh peninsula on the N70. It is situated on the southwestern side of the peninsula, on Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way, an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Castlecove is a traditional rural village full of activities and holds the St. Cohan’s Festival each July. In Castlecove you will find a pub called The Black Shop Bar, O’Leary’s Petrol Station which has a grocery shop and newsagents. Plus, there is a roman catholic church and a seasonal bus stop.

The village of Castlecove is located 15 km to the West of Sneem and 15 km to the East of Waterville on the Ring of Kerry, a 179 km long circular tourist route bordered by the Atlantic Ocean.

Castlecove has fine sandy beaches, the nearest being White Strand and Castlecove sandy beach. The coastline along Castlecove has created natural rock pools with sandy coves dotted underneath the cliffs. Its pristine ecological harmony won Castlecove an award at the World Environmental Oscars.

The imposing ruins of Staigue Fort are close by and are the finest example of a stone fort in Ireland. It’s about 2,500 years old. The defensive fort, six meters high and four meters thick, was home of the chieftain's family and entourage.

Westcove pier is a beautiful inlet from where you can moor your boat and catch up on a spot of fishing for the dinner. Derrynane beach which received the International Blue Flag and Derrynane House & Gardens, home of Daniel O’Connell the 19th-century Irish politician and patriot is 6 km from Castlecove. The famous blue flag beach at Derrynane with golden sandy coves sets it apart from other holiday destinations in Kerry. It is one of the most beautiful beaches in Ireland at any time of year. It has a magical quality whether for swimming in the turquoise waters warmed by the Gulf Stream in summer or long windswept walks in winter.
