Self Catering Holiday Homes in Fethard-on-Sea, Co. Wexford

Fethard-on-Sea Co. Wexford Fethard-on-sea is a small coastal fishing village, located 5km from our holiday homes at Hookless Village, on the Hook Peninsula in Ireland’s sunniest corner. The village has some lovely pubs serving fresh seafood, with outside seating areas in the summertime and a convenience store.

The area around Fethard-on-Sea is rich in history as it was here that the Normans landed during the Norman invasion of Ireland in the 12th century. Originally called Fethard the name was changed to Fethard-on – sea after the Helen Blake capsized in 1914 on a service mission when 9 seamen drowned. Money sent in response to fundraising efforts for the families ended up in Fethard, Co. Tipperary, so the name was changed!
