Immerse yourself in history of Cloghan Castle, a 3-minute drive away from our holiday accommodation in Kilcheester. Take a stroll around the grounds of this 800-year-old castle built by Richard de Burgh, Lord of Connaught in 1236, one of the most ancient and influential families in Irish history

Close by are the vibrant towns of Gort and Loughrea, in Gort visit Coole Park Visitor Centre & Gardens a nature reserve situated on 1,000 acres including woodland and wetland. Loughrea lies to the north of a range of wooded hills, the Slieve Aughty Mountains and is a wonderful place for a variety of water sports.
