Kilmihil is a picturesque village situated on Ireland’s West Coast in County Clare. This ideally located village has a selection of amenities with three grocery stores, a pharmacy, five pubs, a post office and a variety of shops. Every August the village has an annual "Festival of Fun" which includes a parade, a vintage rally, a raft race on Knockalough Lake and various other activities.

Our self-catering holiday accommodation in Kilmihil is a 15-minute drive from Doughmore Beach and the beautiful coastline for County Clare. Located on Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way this beautiful beach has golden sandy and is situated beside The Trump International Golf Links. Set in an idyllic rural background Doughmore Beach is a wonderful place for walkers.

A little further afield you will find Whitestrand Doonbeg (19km), famous for its white sand and its splendid coastal scenery. Located off the N67 and 2.5km west of Doonbeg village this beautiful beach is a popular beach for surfing, swimming and family picnics with a lifeguard patrolled during the summer months.

Kilmihil is the perfect base from which to tour the Burren, Cliffs of Moher, Bunratty Castle, Lough Derg, Kerry and the Connemara coastline. Head west for the seaside resorts of Kilkee and Doonbeg or explore the beauty of the Loop Head Peninsula. Go North and explore the famous Cliffs of Moher, The Burren, Doolin, Spanish Point or The Alliwee Caves or head East you will find treasures like Lough Derg, Ennis and the River Shannon.

There are many beautiful seaside resorts in the immediate area such as Kilkee (25km) where you can take a dip in the famous Pollock Holes. Located near Kilkee Beach these tidal pools offer crystal clear waters in a stunning setting or head north to Kerins Hole (25km) near White Strand in Miltown Malbay, a renowned swimming location for locals.

Explore the picturesque Loop Head Peninsula, a slender finger of land pointing out to sea from the most westerly point of County Clare. Located on Wild Atlantic Way between the Atlantic Ocean and the Shannon Estuary this tiny peninsula has so much to offer. Loop Head is a European Destination of Excellence in aquatic tourism with a wide variety of aquatic activities. There are plenty of quiet beauty spots to reflect and enjoy the magnificent scenery. Visit The Long Dock Pub and Restaurant in Carrigaholt which serves delicious freshly prepared seafood dishes.

Dotted around County Clare you will beautiful traditional Irish pubs serving the best of Irish cuisine. One such pub is Fanny O Dea’s in Lissycasey (11km) which is a beautiful historical pub with a low thatched roof and orange wash walls. Established as a small Inn in 1695 and is one of Ireland’s oldest family run pubs with live music most nights.

The nearby Killimer to Tarbert Ferry Crossing (16km) makes a day trip to North Kerry and the Dingle Peninsula very accessible.
