Newcastle is an attractive and easily accessible suburb in Galway city on the west coast of Ireland. Situated beside the beautiful River Corrib our holiday accommodation, Westwood Holiday Apartments are a 5-minute drive from Eyre Square. Newcastle is easily accessible and a well-connected area of Galway with numerous bus links in the area.

Conveniently Meehan's Spar at The Westwood is located in the same complex as our holdiay accommodation in Newcastle. This modern shop has a selection of amenities such as Insomnia Coffee, Smooch, Deli, ATM, Payzone, Lotto and a variety of groceries and toiletries.

The 404 bus stops directly outside Westwood gates which services Galway City. The journey takes approximately 6 - 15 minutes depending on the time of day and flow of traffic.

Galway city is a very popular holiday destination both with domestic and international tourists. Visitors come to absorb the culture and ‘craic’ which are in abundance in the city. There are a range of activities in the immediate area with excellent museums, theatres, parks, visitor experiences, restaurants, pubs and nightlife.

The city’s hub is 18th-century Eyre Square, a popular meeting spot surrounded by shops and traditional pubs that often offer live Irish folk music. Nearby, stone-clad cafes, boutiques and art galleries line the winding lanes of the Latin Quarter, which retains portions of the medieval city walls.

Our beautiful holiday apartments in Newcastle are an ideal base for exploring the many tourist sites in the city and along Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. Explore the Burren, Killary Fjord, Connemara, the Cliffs of Moher, Kylemore Abbey and the many scenic inland lakes Lough Corrib and Lough Mask. Day tours depart from numerous points across the city to many of Ireland’s top visitor attractions.

COVID-19 UPDATE

Trident Holiday Homes Cancellation Policy

We would like to reconfirm our cancellation policy regarding Covid-19:

No travel restrictions in place – if you wish to cancel a booking because you are concerned about Covid-19 or perhaps someone in your group is self-isolating or sick then this is treated as a normal cancellation, the following is applicable in this event:

8 - 4 weeks before date of arrival: in all cases the Booking Fee is non-refundable, 50% of the total booking value is withheld plus a €49 administration fee.

4 - 2 weeks before date of arrival: in all cases the €53 Booking Fee is nonrefundable, and 75% of the total booking value is withheld plus a €49 administration fee.

Less than 2 weeks before arrival date: in all cases the €53 Booking Fee is nonrefundable and 100% of the total booking value is withheld plus a €49 administration fee.

As a gesture of goodwill if we resell the date you wish to cancel then we will give you a partial refund less the Booking Fee paid. The partial refund will depend on the rate we achieve for the same period you wish to cancel.

Cancellation Policy in the Event of a County or National Travel Ban

In the event of travel restrictions due to Government directives – in the event of a county or national travel ban and as per our terms and conditions this will be treated as ‘Force Majeure’. Therefore, if Trident Holiday Homes is forced to curtail, alter or cancel a holiday, we will allow you to carry forward amounts paid for accommodation (excluding the €53 Booking Fee) to another holiday taken at the same location within 12 months of your initial booking. We will also waive 50% of the applicable Booking Fee on any new booking.

The client shall not be at liberty to maintain a claim for compensation or otherwise arising as a consequence of the said curtailment, alteration or cancellation of the holiday.
