Self Catering Holiday Homes in Newtownmountkennedy, Co. Wicklow
Newtownmountkennedy is a small village in County Wicklow. It developed within the historic townland of Ballygarny, although all that remains of the village is an old church and graveyard just 0.45 km outside the town.
The village with the longest name in Ireland has been a popular tourist destination for the last century.
A picturesque village set in woodlands and glens including Glen O’Downs, Altidore, Callowhill and Kilmurry. Explore the adjoining villages of Kilpedder and Kilquade whilst sampling a pint of Guinness in the local pubs in the surrounding countryside.
There is a choice of villages close by such as the seaside villages of Kilcoole (3km) and the harbour village of Greystones (9km). You have the best of both worlds being in a rural, tranquil setting within easy reach of the scenic Wicklow Mountains and the sandy dunes of Brittas Bay Beach and yet only 45km from Dublin.
The attractive coastal town of Greystones has a wide variety of restaurants, cafés, shops and pubs as well as a picturesque little harbour. You can also leave the car here and catch the suburban train DART into Dublin for a day’s shopping or sightseeing without the hassle of having to find parking.
There is also plenty for children to do in the area with horse riding widely available, Glenroe Open Farm, and amusements, a bowling alley and an aquarium at the traditional seaside resort of Bray.
While staying at our self catering holiday homes in Druid’s Glen, you are ideally located for touring the county of Wicklow and its neighbours, Wexford and Dublin.
