Pallasgreen or Pallasgrean is a village in East County Limerick, situated on the Limerick to Tipperary road – N24. The name means "the Stockade of Grian," referring to an ancient Irish Goddess of Love, whose is associated with the a nearby hill of Nicker. An ideal base for a self-catering holiday as Limerick city is 32 km and Tipperary town is only 19 km away. Or you could venture into County Clare to discover the famous Bunratty Castle & Folk Park or explore the River Shannon, where you can enjoy a selection of water sports and boat trips. The village of Pallasgreen is well served and consists of a service station, a butcher, a post office, a number of country pubs, hairdressers and a selection of takeaways. The local public transportation is provided by Bus Eireann. The city of Limerick is home to the 13th-century King John’s Castle, and steeped in history. A great destination for shopping as it is easy to navigate and boasts a range of big brands and independent stores. O'Connell Street has been the main thoroughfare and backbone of the city for centuries. It has a multitude of shops from end to end as do pedestrianised streets like Bedford Row and Cruises Street. The Milk Market it is a food market located on Mungret Street and well worth a visit. Despite the name, the market has diversified over the years from its initial purpose and now sells a wide variety of foodstuffs, much of which is produced locally. The market is one of the oldest in Ireland. Pallasgreen is a 30-minute drive from Ireland’s largest trail network, Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trails, 98km of trails including forest road climbs. The nearest airport is Shannon Airport, 56 km from the property.
