Rossaveel Harbour & Aran Islands

Rossaveel harbour is the chief fishing harbour in County Galway and colourful trawlers fish the coast for codling, pollack, wrasse, pouting and ling. A series of new quays now service the modern larger trawlers which replaced the old 19th century boats which carried turf across to the Aran Islands. A cold store, auction room and fish processing factory have all been added in recent years.

Rossaveel now acts as a ferry port for the vessels making the short trip to the popular Aran Islands. The Aran Islands one of the region’s top tourist attractions, jump on one of the many ferries that departs from Rossaveel port located close to your holiday accommodation.

Rossaveel Irish Language Schools
