Salthill is a vibrant and attractive seaside suburb close to Galway City in County Galway. The town is popular holiday destination and has a great choice of shops, restaurants, bars and amusements. The town is also home to Ireland’s longest seaside promenade.

In Salthill there are several small sandy and pebble beaches separated by outcrops in a special area of conservation. Salthill beach has been a blue flag beach since 2006. Another popular attraction is Blackrock Diving Tower, an iconic structure of the Salthill.

There are a number of water sports on offer in the immediate area such as kayaking or wind surfing with the Rusheen Bay Windsurfing Centre who provide all equipment and run classes for all levels of surfer.

The local leisure centre Leisureland, offers something for everyone having a 6 lane competitive swimming pool, warm up pool and children’s pool complete with pirate ship, bubble pool, interactive water features and 65m waterslide. The centre also has a fully equipped gym, roller disco and large outdoor amusement park with rides and games for all ages.

Golfers can enjoy the nearby 18 hole Galway Golf Club which has some sunning views of Galway Bay.
