Private Lough Derg Experiences from Killaloe

Guests booking a Killaloe stay with Trident Holiday Homes can access private Lough Derg experiences created especially with Derg Lake Tours.

Departing from Kincora Harbour, these private speedboat trips are designed for families, friends and small groups who want more than a standard boat tour. Choose from a scenic South Lough Derg cruise, a longer day out with village stops, or a River Shannon trip to the historic Ardnacrusha Lock.

A private speedboat trip across South Lough Derg, departing from Kincora Harbour in Killaloe. The route includes a scenic lake cruise and a stop in Garrykennedy, where guests can enjoy lunch or drinks at Larkins Bar & Restaurant before returning to Killaloe.

Signature Lough Derg Experience

5 hours | Up to 10 guests | €995

A longer private day out on the water, with time to explore more of Lough Derg and enjoy two village stops along the way. This option works well for families, friends and special occasions, with time built in for food, drinks and a slower look at Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands.

Derg Lake Tours - Ardnacrusha Experience

Killaloe to Ardnacrusha Lock Experience

2 hours | Up to 7 guests | €550
3.5 hours including lock transit | Up to 7 guests | €750

Travel beyond Killaloe along the River Shannon towards Ardnacrusha Lock, one of Ireland’s major engineering landmarks. Guests can learn about its history from the water, with the longer option including transit through the lock before returning to Killaloe.

Please note: the 3.5-hour option, including Ardnacrusha Lock transit, must be booked at least 48 hours in advance, as the lock opening needs to be arranged.

"House was very clean, with two recently renovated bathrooms, both with electric showers and wall heaters. Beds were very comfortable. Wifi and a smart TV in the sitting room were brilliant for the showery days. The orientation of the house meant sunshine filled the kitchen and sitting room throughout the day, keeping it warm. There were heaters in the rooms, but we did not need to use them. Lovely walk up and down to the beach every day. Would happily stay here again!"
