Located at the edge of Mannin Bay near Ballyconneely is Coral Strand. Here you will find Mannin Bay Blueway which offers a lovely location for swimming, kayaking, snorkelling and exploring. The Coral Strand beach in Ballyconneely is unusual for its golden coral sand. It’s easy to access, with plenty of carparking space, and is known to be a slightly warmer swimming location than other beaches.
There are a number of festivals in Connemara during the year, including the Arts Festival in September, Clifden Traditional Music Festival and the popular Connemara Pony Show held every year on the third Thursday in August.
Connemara National Park which opened to the public in 1980 is 21.7km away from this self-catering holiday home in Ballyconneely. Connemara National Park is one of six national parks in Ireland and one of the top tourist attractions in Galway.

This is an extra charge which is mostly payable to the Property Manager/Owner. In some cases, energy is charged at a fixed daily rate or a rate per unit on the units consumed or you are required to top up a Pre-Paid Meter while in others, energy charges are included in the rate you have paid. We advise you to check with the local Owner/ Property Manager prior to arrival how this is calculated or prior to making the booking.
2. Security Deposit:
A minimum refundable security deposit of €200 (per property) must be paid prior to check-in to your holiday home to the local Property Manager/ Owner. This is either taken over the phone by pre-authorising your credit card when you call the Property Manager to arrange your arrival time 48 hours in advance of arrival or at others it is taken on arrival. In some locations and at certain times of year this can increase to €500 per property.

Wonderful house in a fantastic location right on the beach

The location is ideal, approximately 10 minutes drive from Clifden and within walking distance of Ballyconnelly. There is a lovely beach for walking on just over the road.

The accommodation is excellent, comfy beds and a really well spec'd kitchen and living room. Far better TV coverage than I remember from my childhood holidays to Connemara, and a stove to keep the house cosy when night falls. Mary is a superb host, we had everything we could want for our week away. Would highly recommend. Also, and this was really important for us, the house is pet friendly and we were able to bring our dog with us, he loved his holiday too. |
