Sea View Holiday Home Sheep's Head is a wonderful detached holiday home set in an absolutely stunning location, close to Bantry town in West Cork. From this large holiday home on the Sheep’s Head Peninsula you will be treated to stunning sea views over Bantry Bay and across to the scenic Beara Peninsula.
This beautifully designed holiday home is 4.5km from the seaside village of Kilcrohane and 18km from the vibrant harbour town of Bantry. Located on part of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way this luxurious holiday home is also 400 metres from Gortnakilla Pier.
Sheep’s Head Peninsula in West Cork lies between Bantry Bay and Dunmanus Bay, a peaceful and unspoilt peninsula with some of the most spectacular scenery in Ireland.
The utility room located on the first floor has a washing machine and tumble dryer, perfect for additional storage on your next self-catering holiday.
From the kitchen table you and your guests will be treated to views over the beautiful fields down to the Atlantic Ocean. Glass french doors lead out to a paved patio area with outside furniture perfect for alfresco dining or sit back and enjoy this picture-perfect spot on Sheep’s Head Peninsula.
The impressive living room has a high vaulted ceiling, 50’’ Freesat TV, DVD player, CD player and once again french doors leading out to a beautiful patio.
There is a cloakroom with toilet located on the ground floor.

Outside this impressive holiday home there is a large lawned garden with 2 patios, garden furniture, barbecue and chiminea. The lawned garden also has a babbling mountain stream running through it which has an enclosed patio alongside.
Kids will love exploring the 3½-acre natural grounds and as an added bonus, Sea View Sheep’s Head also accepts pets upon request. Dogs are welcome at this holiday home but they must be kept on a lead at all times as the local fields have farm animals grazing.
Private parking beside this holiday home is available for five cars.
This is strictly a no smoking holiday home.
Please note: This holiday home has a natural water supply from a borehole and there is an unfenced stream and pond 6½ yards away. There is also a step at the entrance.
Oil central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi is available and included in the rental charge.
Visit the Sheep’s Head Producers market and shop where you will find food and crafts created by local craftspeople and artisan food producers.
Explore the Sheep’s Head Way walking route which trails the entire coastline of the Sheep’s Head Peninsula. Many of its most spectacular loop walks extend from trailheads around Kilcrohane. From behind the village take the Peakeen Ridge Loop Walk and discover spectacular views across Bantry Bay and Dunmanus Bay.
Kilcrohane is also popular with cyclists of all abilities who enjoy the quiet beauty of the roads and the spectacular hairpin bends that lead down from Seefin to Kilcrohane village. Sheep’s Head Cycle Route extends all around the coastline of the peninsula and bike hire is available from The Old Creamery in Kilcrohane village.
Trá Ruaim beach outside the village is a little gem or explore the many local shore fishing spots.
The Old Creamery in Kilcrohane is the home to a lovely café and restaurant run by the O’Donovan family. This homely café and restaurant is popular with hill walkers as is the local Bridgeview Restaurant. Or visit The White House Gallery & Café located just outside the village.
Head out to the peninsula’s end where you will find the fabulous Bernie’s Cupán Tae, a must on your next self-catering holiday on Sheep’s Head Peninsula.
You can go pony trekking, sailing, kayaking, take a cooking course or visit artisan food producers such as Durrus Farmhouse. West Cork has earned an international reputation for its marvellous cheese, thanks to the likes of Durrus Farmhouse, whose produce is sold all over world.
Visit Heron Gallery, Cafe & Gardens which is packed with colourful works of art and gifts, plus the mostly vegetarian menu includes lunch dishes such as falafel, caramelised red onion and goat’s cheese tart.
A wonderful place for a pitstop is Ahakista Bar, this charming, tin-roofed stone cottage, known locally as the Tin Pub. This wonderfully unique pub has flowering gardens to the rear that tumble down to the waterfront, with picnic tables where you can sip a cold one while soaking up the fresh sea air.
For a unique experience visit Blairscove Restaurant open since 1981 and serves delicious evening meals from mid-March to early November. The restaurant is located in the barn and its church like windows overlooking Dunmanus Bay. Meat is grilled on a roaring fire in the dining room and guests can help themselves to an impressive display of mouth-watering starters and desserts.

Kilcrohane village is 4.5km from Sea View Sheep’s Head and overlooks Dunmanus Bay in West Cork. This is the last coastal village on the Sheep's Head Peninsula after Durrus and Ahakista.
