Situated just a short walk from the sandy dunes of Brittas Bay beach, on Ireland’s sunny East coast, this pretty seaside holiday cottage is perfect for family holidays. Be sure to bring your tennis racket and gear to take full advantage of the tennis courts and football pitch onsite.
Ideally there are two holiday cottages available in Brittas Bay Holiday Village, No. 3 and No. 32 making them the perfect destination for a group family holiday. While staying at our self-catering accommodation in Brittas, you are ideally situated to explore the surrounding county of Wicklow and also the neighbouring counties of Wexford, Carlow and Dublin.
This seaside holiday cottage has 3 bedrooms and sleeps 6:
- Double bedroom with ensuite, sleeping 2
- Twin bedroom, sleeping 2
- Twin bedroom, sleeping 2
There is a large family bathroom with overhead shower located on the ground floor.
Surrounding this seaside holiday cottage is onsite tennis courts, a football pitch and shared gardens.
Brittas Bay is a lovely community with rich heritage and a selection of local amenities including a primary school and church. It is said that Brittas Bay was the initial landing site of St Patrick.
Close by is D Store Daybreak which is open all year around or Excell Stop & Shop/BB Mini Market which is open during the summer months. Bay Cafe is a well-known café located beside D Store, this popular café serves delicious homemade dishes and sells fresh sourdough bread daily.
A little further north or inland you will find an array of beautiful golf courses such as Druids Health, Druids Glen, Powerscourt Golf Club and the Woodenbridge Golf Club to name but a few. Potters Point is another local golf course, open year-round, a pay & play 9-hole par 3 course.
Wicklow Bowl and Kidzone located on the outskirts of Wicklow town is a great way to spend a rainy day with family and friends. Wicklow Gaol is another good choice and providing an unforgettable journey through an original prison building.
There are a wide variety of cultural and heritage sites in County Wicklow including Avondale House & Gardens, the monastic site at Glendalough, Greenan Farm Museum & Maze, and the world famous Powerscourt House & Gardens and Mount Usher Gardens.
For the more adventurous, the area has a great selection of outdoor activities to offer including horse riding, surfing, kayaking, trail running, surfing, mountain biking, rock climbing and more. The Wicklow Way is just one of countless trails you can explore on your next self-catering holiday in Wicklow. The famous Wicklow Way trail meanders through the Wicklow Hills from the South of Dublin into County Carlow. One of many wonderful trails to hike with breath-taking views and an abundance of wildlife including sika deer, hybrid red-sika deer, feral goats, mountain hares, badgers, stoats, otters, red squirrels, grey squirrels and bats.
For another fantastic day out venture to Splash Valley, a new aqua-park which opened in Hidden Valley Holiday Park in Rathdrum in County Wicklow. The 1,800-square-metre park includes some 30 obstacles arranged around a small, manmade lake. This unique park is only a 20-minute drive from Brittas Bay.
Close by is the outdoor adventure park called Clara Lara Fun Park. It provides a healthy and creative fun day out for families and groups of children. Cara Lara is located on 30 acres of beautiful countryside in the Avonmore River valley with tree houses, Tarzan swings, rope bridges, rowing boats, water slides, rafts, canoes and junior go-carts.
The vibrant city of Dublin is easily accessible on the M11 motorway or you can travel by train from Wicklow town. Explore food markets, art galleries, visit major visitor attractions such as the Guinness Store House or the Book of Kells in Trinity College or hire a Dublin Bike to explore the wonders of Phoenix Park.

About Brittas Bay
Brittas Bay has been awarded the ‘European Union Blue Flag several times. This beautiful 5km stretch of sand and sand dunes, is designated as a Special Area of Conservation. It is an area of ecological importance and habitats of interest include sand dunes, ferns and grassland areas. The dunes are home to many interesting wildlife species and plants, including a number of rare species. I have only two areas I think could be improved. The upstairs shower head seemed blocked. It was quite poor in dispersion water and the pipe/wire seemed to be leaking too.
The curtains in the bedrooms were extremely light. With a 5am sunrise, this see more

I guess the pave walk to the beach could be improved by the city services. It seems bit dangerous that cars may drive 80 km/h, while you walk on that road.
Also, there were quite a lot bugs, small ~1 cm roaches at the house entrance. (inside) Killsee more
