Description
At the Park Hotel guests staying in the self-catering accommodation have full access to the hotel’s bar and restaurant in addition to its leisure centre and 20m swimming pool, making this an ideal choice for families and groups who enjoy having this option so close to their holiday home.
The hotel and leisure centre are situated on five acres of landscaped gardens, overlooking the attractive Colligan River Estuary and a pleasant 10 minutes’ walk (under 1km) from the centre of the harbour town of Dungarvan.
These modern holiday homes have 3 bedrooms and sleep 5 guests comfortably:
- Double bedroom, sleeping 2
- Twin bedroom, sleeping 2
- Single bedroom, sleeping 1
The family bathroom is located on the first floor.
Another local attraction is Dungarvan Castle, an Anglo-Norman fortification founded in 1185. It was built in a very strategic location at the mouth of the river Colligan. With the foundation of the Garda Siochana in 1922 the building was restored and used as the local Garda Station until 1987, open daily from June to late September.
Bikes can be hired locally so you can explore the wonderful old railway line from Dungarvan to Waterford City, The Waterford Greenway. This 46km off-road cycling and walking trail which travels across 11 bridges, 3 viaducts and through an impressive tunnel is a delightful local amenity. As you leave the town of Dungarvan and head east towards Waterford along the Greenway you will be rewarded with breath-taking scenery of the coastline.
Along this route you can discover Viking settlement, Norman Castles, medieval ruins, a famine workhouse and an old railway station. Young and old will love the heritage railway train which runs along part of the track at Suir Valley Railway in the beautiful part of Irelands Ancient East. Kilmeadan Station which closed to passengers in 1967 has been beautifully restored with the original coping stones on the platform and the Kilmeadan Station sign.
For a scenic drive or hike head to Comeragh Heights, this rugged terrain presents a challenge to even the most experienced mountain hiker, but if you venture into the hills, you will be rewarded with splendid views.
Explore the Mahon Valley, home to an 80-metre waterfall, formed by the river Mahon as it cascades from the Comeragh Plateau over the sandstone cliffs and rocks below.
There is something to suit everyone at the Comeragh Mountains a magnificent glaciated mountain range 20 minutes from our holiday accommodation in Dungarvan.
There is an abundance of beautiful gardens in the area such as Cappoquin House & Gardens, Curraghmore Estate, Dromana House & Garden, Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Garden, Lismore Castle Gardens, Mount Congreve Gardens, Shady Plants Garden and Tourin House & Gardens. To get a full appreciation, one must visit the gardens as the seasons unfold, a truly rewarding and memorable experience.
Cunnigar Pitch and Putt Club, Dungarvan Golf Club, Gold Coast Golf Club and West Waterford Golf & Country Club all within easy reach of The Park Hotel.

This is an extra charge which is mostly payable to the Property Manager/Owner. In some cases, energy is charged at a fixed daily rate or a rate per unit on the units consumed or you are required to top up a Pre-Paid Meter while in others, energy charges are included in the rate you have paid. We advise you to check with the local Owner/ Property Manager prior to arrival how this is calculated or prior to making the booking.
2. Security Deposit:
A minimum refundable security deposit of €200 (per property) must be paid prior to check-in to your holiday home to the local Property Manager/ Owner. This is either taken over the phone by pre-authorising your credit card when you call the Property Manager to arrange your arrival time 48 hours in advance of arrival or at others it is taken on arrival. In some locations and at certain times of year this can increase to €500 per property.

The holiday homes adjacent to the hotel have an open plan kitchen and dining area with French doors on to the patio area. The modern kitchen is well equipped and has all the essentials you need for a comfortable self-catering holiday in Ireland. The living room has comfortable furnishings plus a TV. There is also a shower room on the ground floor.These modern holiday homes have 3 bedrooms and sleep 5 guests comfortably:

Things to See and Do in Dungarvan
Dungarvan is a bustling seaside town located 1km from The Park Hotel with a variety of shops, pubs, restaurants and craft shops. Dungarvan Farmers Market is held in The Square each Thursday from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Dungarvan Shopping Centre also has a selection of boutiques and eateries.Another local attraction is Dungarvan Castle, an Anglo-Norman fortification founded in 1185.
