During summer months the West Cork town of Bantry, a 7 minute drive from Ballylickey becomes one of the most important cultural festival destinations in Ireland with the West Cork Chamber Music Festival (28th June – 7th July 2019) the West Cork Literary Festival (12th – 19th July 2019 ) and the Masters of Tradition Festival (21st – 25th August 2019) all happening there.

Another annual festival is the Taste of West Cork Food Festival, a ten-day event in September. The festival celebrates not only West Cork's unique food culture, but also the people and land that produce that food.
