Self Catering Holiday Homes in Carrick near Ardara, Co. Donegal

Carrick is a small village located within the parish of Glencolmcille in County Donegal. In Carrick there are a number of traditional Irish pubs, two grocery shops, a café, church and post office.

From here you can visit Slieve League or Slieve Liag, a mountain on the Atlantic coast. Hike to the top of the Sliabh Liag and enjoy some of the highest marine cliffs in Europe. Along route you will encounter a number of lakes on your way to the summit and at the base there is a beach of pure white sand that is only approachable by boat.

Close by fabulous sightseeing excursions can be booked from nearby Teelin Pier. View the sea cliffs from the boat as they tower 600 metre above. Visitors are often joined by dolphins, whales, seals and basking sharks a wonderful experience on your next self-catering holiday Donegal.

From our holiday cottage you will drive through the scenic Glen Gesh Pass to reach Ardara which was once voted the best village to live in Ireland by The Irish Times.

In Ardara village to the north-east there are a many traditional Irish pubs some with live music, fine dining restaurants and cafés. Ardara is a heritage town so there are many local craft shops and places of interest. Ardara was once also voted the best village to live in Ireland by The Irish Times.

From Carrick you will be surrounding by the most spectacular scenery in western Europe. Drive along the Donegal coast, the longest coastline in Ireland at 772 miles and enjoy breath-taking views along Donegal’s Wild Atlantic Way.

Visit Glencolmchille Folk Village, a cluster of small cottages, called a ‘clachan’ perched on a hillside overlooking the Glen Bay Beach in the Gaeltacht. Designed by the local people the Folk Village is one of Ireland’s best living history museums.

Another local attraction is Donegal’s spectacular Secret Waterfall, recently discovered and described as an archaeological goldmine with ancient fossils and a cave.

The local area is very popular with hillwalkers, climbers, horse-riding, families and outdoor enthusiasts. A wonderful base to explore Donegal’s Wild Atlantic Way or relax and recharge in your tranquil surroundings.

Carrick and Ardara is set in an area of outstanding natural beautiful on the edge of Crocknamurrin Mountain Bog in County Donegal.

Trident Holiday Homes Cancellation Policy

We would like to reconfirm our cancellation policy regarding Covid-19:

No travel restrictions in place – if you wish to cancel a booking because you are concerned about Covid-19 or perhaps someone in your group is self-isolating or sick then this is treated as a normal cancellation, the following is applicable in this event:

8 - 4 weeks before date of arrival: in all cases the Booking Fee is non-refundable, 50% of the total booking value is withheld plus a €49 administration fee.

4 - 2 weeks before date of arrival: in all cases the €53 Booking Fee is nonrefundable, and 75% of the total booking value is withheld plus a €49 administration fee.

Less than 2 weeks before arrival date: in all cases the €53 Booking Fee is nonrefundable and 100% of the total booking value is withheld plus a €49 administration fee.

As a gesture of goodwill if we resell the date you wish to cancel then we will give you a partial refund less the Booking Fee paid. The partial refund will depend on the rate we achieve for the same period you wish to cancel.

Cancellation Policy in the Event of a County or National Travel Ban

In the event of travel restrictions due to Government directives – in the event of a county or national travel ban and as per our terms and conditions this will be treated as ‘Force Majeure’. Therefore, if Trident Holiday Homes is forced to curtail, alter or cancel a holiday, we will allow you to carry forward amounts paid for accommodation (excluding the €53 Booking Fee) to another holiday taken at the same location within 12 months of your initial booking. We will also waive 50% of the applicable Booking Fee on any new booking.

The client shall not be at liberty to maintain a claim for compensation or otherwise arising as a consequence of the said curtailment, alteration or cancellation of the holiday.
