No visit to Co. Meath is complete without a trip to Newgrange, a Neolithic passage tomb constructed over 5000 years ago, making it older than Stonehenge! This together with Knowth and Dowth – two nearby smaller sites, has been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The Boyne Valley is rich in mythological sites including the Hill of Tara and the villages, such as Slane and its Castle are all well worth a visit to the area.
