About Kilmuckridge
Kilmuckridge is a wonderful base for a seaside holiday in County Wexford. This coastal village is 3km from the beautiful sandy beach of Curracloe which stretches for 11km. This magnificent Blue Flag beach has pure white sand and is backed by an ancient dune system. The pale gold deserted sands stretch from Raven Point to Ballyconnigar near Blackwater.
Close to our holiday accommodation in the seaside resort of Kilmuckridge is a variety of pubs which offer evening traditional Irish music sessions. There are also a selection of restaurants and a supermarket in the village.
There are a number of both historical and natural visitor attractions in the local area such as Golden Mile Beach which has been a designated as a heritage site and nearby is the historic village of Morriscastle with its Norman ruins, located 2 km from Kilmuckridge and a popular tourist destination during the summer months.
The area around our self-catering holiday accommodation in Kilmuckridge and along Wexford’s coast is very scenic. There is an abundance of wildlife within the ancient sand dunes and rocky coastline.
Wells House & Gardens is only a 10-minute drive from Kilmuckridge. Popular with families this Victorian Tudor Gothic country house museum has a variety of events, woodland walks, animal farm, fairy trail, picnic area and much more.
The vibrant towns of Gorey and Enniscorthy are less than a 25-minute drive away. Both towns are packed with award winning boutiques, cafes, restaurant’s, traditional pubs, bookshops and more. There are also many facilities such as bowling alleys, cinemas, play zones, amusements and more.
The Wexford Diving Centre operates from Kilmore Quay which is approximately 1 hour away. In an area that boasts some of the most varied diving in Ireland, with excellent visibility divers can explore wrecks at depths ranging from 6-60 meters. Study marine life on Coningbeg Rocks or watch seals, dolphins and diving birds around the scenic Saltee Islands.
There excellent deep-sea fishing and great angling to be had inland on the Blackwater River and on Lough Mahon which is well stocked with rainbow trout.
