The South West of Ireland is known primarily for the spectacular, breath-taking scenery of Kerry’s dramatic coastline indented with the Dingle, Iveragh and Beara Peninsulas, framed by Ireland’s highest mountains. Neighbouring Cork ranks just as highly for scenery with its fabulously indented coastline of hidden coves, beaches and colourful villages. 

Sheep’s Head Peninsula is a walkers’ paradise and a great destination for a walking holiday in Ireland. The whole area of West Cork is dotted with seaside villages famous for sailing, and island trips from Skibbereen and Schull and this area is the birthplace of the Slow Food movement in Ireland.

The historic city of Limerick and its airport at Shannon is gateway to both the South and West of Ireland. Walking and mountain biking is just one of the many activities in the Ballyhoura hills and mountains of Tipperary where you will see nature at its best, unlikely to be disturbed.
