Baltimore is a pretty village in West Cork located on Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. The ferry port is located in the village and is the main port for visiting Sherkin Island, Cape Clear Island, and the eastern side of Roaring Water Bay.
Baltimore has an excellent selection of shops, pubs, restaurants, and cafes. For delicious seafood and an evening of entertainment visit one of the cosy local pubs such as The Algiers Inn, Bushes Bar, Caseys of Baltimore, Jacob’s Bar, and The Sibín.
Enjoy a unique culinary experience at the Dede in Customs House. Baltimore and the surrounding area are home to an array of unique restaurants such as Glebe Gardens, La Jolie Brise, The Lookout Restaurant and Rolf’s Country House.
This beautiful part of West Cork is very popular and has a wonderful energetic atmosphere throughout the year. There is an excellent range of both land and water activities. For water enthusiasts, enjoy a day whale watching, deep sea fishing, diving, snorkeling, kayaking, sailing, and of course sea swimming.

West Cork has some of the best Blue Flag beaches in Ireland, several of them within comfortable driving distance. Baltimore itself has a variety of unspoilt beaches, or visit Sherkin and Heir islands, to find golden sandy peaceful beaches.
West Cork is a great walking county with a mixture of rugged open mountains, woodlands, country lanes and rugged coastlines. There is a designated walk around Baltimore and on nearby Sherkin Island and Cape Clear Island.
Baltimore is ideally located for exploring beautiful West Cork and the many pretty towns and villages. From Baltimore you can easily visit Rosscarberry, Glandore, Union Hall, Schull, Crookhaven, Bantry to name but a few. Along the route enjoy stunning scenery, rugged coastlines, and a fine selection of local sandy beaches.
Visit the busy and very attractive market towns of Skibbereen and Clonakilty. The magnificent Mizen, Sheep’s Head and Beara Peninsulas give an additional flavour of the wonderful scenery in this corner of Ireland. Baltimore is sure to offer a memorable self-catering holiday in Ireland.

"House was very clean, with two recently renovated bathrooms, both with electric showers and wall heaters. Beds were very comfortable. Wifi and a smart TV in the sitting room were brilliant for the showery days. The orientation of the house meant sunshine filled the kitchen and sitting room throughout the day, keeping it warm. There were heaters in the rooms, but we did not need to use them. Lovely walk up and down to the beach every day. Would happily stay here again!"
