About Rosslare

Rosslare has been a popular tourist resort for at least 100 years and it prides itself on being the sunniest spot in Ireland, which makes it a great destination for family holidays.

Its long sandy Blue Flag beach is wonderful for summer days when swimming, water sports, and picnics are the main activities. At other times of the year, it is a glorious place for long windswept walks along the shores. The train from Dublin to Rosslare ‘Europort railway’ serves the village. Ferries to France leave from the Port at Rosslare making the area around the harbour busy in season.

There are some excellent restaurants and fine hotels in Rosslare and some lovely little shops and boutiques. There is an 18 hole Golf course, horse-riding and great coastal walks. But Rosslare is not just a resort town, it is an excellent base from which to explore the Norman town of Wexford (15km) and its namesake county. Historical attractions such as Loftus Hall, Hook Lighthouse and Irish National Heritage Park are all close by. The town is also famous for its Opera Festival and its Strawberry Festival.
