Located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, Terryglass is a picturesque village situated on the shores of Lough Derg in County Tipperary.
Terryglass is a popular holiday destination in Ireland for water sports enthusiasts. There is a magnificent harbour 650 meters from Terryglass village with a wonderful playground overlooking the lough. At the harbour moorings are available and the slipway allows visitors to easily enter Lough Derg with canoes, kayaks, and boats.
At the centre of Terryglass village visit Paddy’s Pub where you can enjoy traditional Irish music at the weekends and delightful cuisine.
Terryglass meaning “Land of the two streams” is 25 minutes north of Nenagh, and only a 2-hour drive from Dublin City. Steeped in natural history, the village itself was established on the site of an ancient monastery built in 549AD most renowned for the production of ‘The Book of Leinster’ now housed in Trinity College in Dublin city.
Terryglass is an ideal base for exploring the surrounding area with beautiful lakeside forests and walking trails. Top tourist attractions that can be reached easily include The Cliffs of Moher, The Aran Islands, and the Burren National Park.
Experience the Lough Derg Blueway which is made up of 21 paddling trails and an array of walking and cycling routes. Stop off and visit the many picturesque towns and villages along the way. For outdoor activities, Lough Derg Water Sports situated at Kilgarvan Quay offers sailing, canoeing, kayaking and much more.

"House was very clean, with two recently renovated bathrooms, both with electric showers and wall heaters. Beds were very comfortable. Wifi and a smart TV in the sitting room were brilliant for the showery days. The orientation of the house meant sunshine filled the kitchen and sitting room throughout the day, keeping it warm. There were heaters in the rooms, but we did not need to use them. Lovely walk up and down to the beach every day. Would happily stay here again!"
