Donegal has a large Gaeltacht area where native Irish is still spoken, and renowned for its folklore and traditional music. The village, known colloquially as Leitir, is between the larger towns of Glenties and Dungloe.

At Elliot’s Traditional Irish Bar, you will experience a warm welcome with traditional Irish music playing every Friday night.  

Located on part of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way, Dooey Beach is a 9-minute drive from Lettermacaward. Popular activities at Dooey Beach include walking, swimming, kayaking, boating, windsurfing, and other land-based activities such as football, kite flying and walking. 

Set against the stunning backdrop of the majestic Truskla Mountain in an area of outstanding natural beauty, Lettermacaward is truly unique holiday destination.
