About Dingle

The town of Dingle is situated right at the tip of the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry. This scenic peninsula stretches 48 km into the Atlantic Ocean from Ireland’s south-west coast. This much-loved peninsula is dominated by a range of mountains running from the Slieve Mish range to Mount Brandon, Ireland’s second highest peak. The coastline consists of steep sea-cliffs, broken by sandy beaches – there are some of the most breath-taking scenes at every turn as you drive, cycle, or walk this area. Outdoor activities available in the area include mountaineering, rock climbing, horse riding and canoeing.

The sandy beaches at Ventry and Inch are less than 10 km away east and west of the town wonderful for summer swims and picnic days at the beach or wrapped up for a winter walk. Dingle Town itself is vibrant, a particular favourite with musicians and artisan craft workers, and artists, with a wonderful selection of cafes, pubs, and restaurants where you can enjoy the best of Irish seafood and local produce. Impromptu music sessions, race meetings, and festivals all add to the charm of Dingle.

At Dingle Marina, close to all of our Dingle self-catering properties, there is a wide variety of water sports and boat trips out to visit the stunning Blasket Islands where the waters are ideal for divers.
