The Hermitage Dungarvan No.25 is a spacious seaside holiday home located in the seaside town of Dungarvan in County Waterford. This ideally located holiday home is situated in a quiet residential area in Dungarvan, a pretty harbour town located on the south-east coast of Ireland.
New to our collection, this wonderful seaside holiday home was added to our website June 2020.
This well position holiday home is situated 300 metres from the starting point of the Waterford Greenway – a 46km of off-road cycling and walking trail. A wonderful amenity and tourist attraction right on your door step.
Locally there are many scenic drives, walks, glorious gardens, art galleries plus golf enthusiasts will love the fact that there are three great courses within a short drive of each other. For those looking for adventure, there are a host of both land and water-based activities available locally. Dungarvan is truly a great holiday destination for an enjoyable and memorable holiday in the southeast of Ireland.
The Hermitage Dungarvan No.25 is a spacious holiday accommodation sleeping 5 guests comfortably. The open plan dining room and cottage style kitchen is well equipped and has all the essentials you need for a comfortable self-catering holiday in Ireland. The open plan kitchen and dining room overlook the mature front garden. There is also a separate utility room perfect for extra storage.
The large living room is spacious and has two large sofas plus a flat screen tv and open fire.

From Dungarvan Harbour hop on an offshore charter and go deep sea fishing, whale, dolphin & seal watching.
Abbeyside beach is a lovely quiet beach 300 metres from this holiday home in Dungarvan. The promenade is perfect for a stroll. Clonea Strand is another fabulous beach approximately 5km outside Dungarvan and it holds an International Blue Flag award. This long, wide sandy beach provides fantastic views and a delightful scenic walk.
Another local attraction within easy walking distance is Dungarvan Castle, an Anglo-Norman fortification founded in 1185. It was built in a very strategic location at the mouth of the River Colligan. With the foundation of the Garda Siochana in 1922 the building was restored and used as the local Garda Station until 1987, open daily from June to late September.
Along this route you can discover Viking settlement, Norman Castles, medieval ruins, a famine workhouse and an old railway station.
Young and old will love the heritage railway train which runs along part of the track at Suir Valley Railway in the beautiful part of Irelands Ancient East. Kilmeadan Station which closed to passengers in 1967 has been beautifully restored with the original coping stones on the platform and the Kilmeadan Station sign.
Explore the Mahon Valley, home to an 80-metre waterfall, formed by the River Mahon as it cascades from the Comeragh Plateau over the sandstone cliffs and rocks below.
There is something to suit everyone at the Comeragh Mountains a magnificent glaciated mountain range 20 minutes from our holiday accommodation in Dungarvan.
There is an abundance of beautiful gardens in the area such as Cappoquin House & Gardens, Curraghmore Estate, Dromana House & Garden, Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Garden, Lismore Castle Gardens, Mount Congreve Gardens, Shady Plants Garden and Tourin House & Gardens. To get a full appreciation, one must visit the gardens as the seasons unfold, a truly rewarding and memorable experience.

Dungarvan & the Local Area
Dungarvan is a bustling seaside town with a variety of shops, pubs, restaurants and craft shops. Dungarvan Farmers Market is held in The Square each Thursday from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Bikes can be hired locally so you can explore the wonderful old railway line from Dungarvan to Waterford City, The Waterford Greenway. This 46km off-road cycling and walking trail which travels across 11 bridges, 3 viaducts and through an impressive tunnel is a delightful local amenity.
